American animation: We have to create simplified characters to make the movement faster and more creative and interesting.

Hey you know what studios do in America? Due to animators unionizing, instead of paying all the animators proper wage they started sending animation to be done over seas to lower labor costs. Now most studios’ animation are shipped to Korea and China and etc., which means the designs for the characters have to be simplified for easy character animation. Not to mention the history of American animation overall and how the American cartoon style has led towards more simplified styles over the years.

Also animation in Japan, while it does have plenty sakuga stuff, are actually just budget dumps for the best fight scenes. During normal scenes, characters can be very static and has a lot of holds. There’s also the mouth-flapping thing that a lot of animators in America detest. Everything is revolved around budgets for both countries. For America, to pay animators working wages they decided to cut costs and ship labor overseas. For Japan it means terrible working hours and labor, where plenty of animators have fallen ill or even die in their own cubicles.

So watch your fucking language and learn animation history. People like you are the reason why a lot of studios are cutting costs on their workers in America.

‘Tis I, Matthew Hopkins, infamous English witch-hunter, responsible for the deaths of between 230 and 400 people in the 17th century.

Excuse me, miss.  Are you, by chance… a witch?

image

a witch yeah yeah, anyway shit this tea has NO sugar and i forgot sugarcubes is that cool with you

Matthew Hopkins recoils in fear and disgust, for this is truly…

image

Y-yes, that will be fine.  As a Puritan, if I take tea at all, it is without sugar…

Seeming to have not alerted the witch, he chooses to take a subtle approach and coax the damning information out of her.

Now, pardon me for asking, but do you regularly hold council with imps and other such demons, perhaps meeting for tea and to blaspheme God?

look dude do you want a biscuit or not

Matthew Hopkins’ eyes darken in fear, and his face goes ghastly white.  The Witchfinder General has found a witch for whom he is no match.  She evades even his most cunning inquiries with ease, and the brazen air with which she admits her heresy shows she fears neither man nor God.  He cannot win, and defeated, he relents.

A biscuit would be lovely… Thank you.

I have a theory…

Diana is my matron. I know not often but sometimes deity come to you depending on your ancestry.. so its always puzzled me why she chose me.

Im originally Russian.. so of Slavic origin.. among other things..

Dewana, is the slavic goddess of the hunt.. they theorize that they actually borrowed her from the Romans…

I have a huge shadow around being Russian because of my mother and her hate for our country.. it wasnt until witchcraft and paganism that I was even willing to look at that part of my ancestry.

What if..

What IF, Dewana has been masking herself as Diana.. and she’s slowly somehow, leading me back to my roots?

1. Dziewanna/Dewana or any naming thereof is a subject of much debate. Whilst there is some information available to us about male Slavic deities, the information about the female deities is few and far between. There is very little information on the subject of this Dziewanna, and whether she was actually worshipped at all is still largely an unaswered question due to lack of sufficient evidence.

2. She should never be seen as “Slavic Diana.” I know that it has been very popular for people to say for example that Veles is Slavic Loki, or Perun is just reskinned Zeus but… They are -really- not. Whilst they share similarities, they are their own deities. Slavic paganism is not just a re-skin of other forms of paganism. It is a beautiful practice (flawed, but what isn’t?) that has existed for a long time, and I personally believe it to be a disservice to simplify it like that.
